More Details

The Addison Theatre Centre introduces the inaugural Addison Laugh Fest, a weekend of comedy entertainment taking place September 24-25, 2021.

Friday Main Show, 8:00 p.m., $10

  • Host Rory Scholl is a Dallas-raised comic, storyteller, author of "Black Sheep", and the director and producer of the touring improv show ARTPROV.  He has performed on cruise lines, hosts the corporate game show The Big Quiz Thing, and will be guiding our audience on a comedic journey with several talented sketch and improv performers.
  • The Mash 'em Ups are a group of veteran improvisers who don't normally get the opportunity to perform together.  This super group of creative minds from The Alternative Comedy Theater is ready to have fun.
  • COYOTE are the kids your parents warned you about, but funny.  Birthed during the pandemic, the group specializes in sketch comedy.
  • Sondheimlich Maneuver is an off, off, off Broadway music improv show influenced by the song stylings of Stephen Sondheim.

Saturday Student Matinee, 2:00 p.m., $5

  • The Mash 'em Ups Junior are just like The Mash 'em Ups adult group, but in teenage form.  These youth comics are fast on their feet and very funny.
  • This show is appropriate for all ages, from kids to seniors.

Saturday Improv Workshop, 4:00 p.m., $15

  • Students of comedy can participate in this introductory course in the art of improv.
  • The course is taught by Rory Scholl, who, in addition to the credentials listed above, is also the creator of the annual TwoProv improv tournament in New York City.
  • Participants are welcome to stay and watch the free Intro to Improv Showcase at 6:00 p.m., which will feature performances by the students of The Alternative Comedy Theater.

Saturday Main Show, 8:00 p.m., $10

  • Host Rory Scholl is a Dallas-raised comic, storyteller, author of "Black Sheep", and the director and producer of the touring improv show ARTPROV.  He has performed on cruise lines, hosts the corporate game show The Big Quiz Thing, and will be guiding our audience on a comedic journey with several talented sketch and improv performers.
  • Odd Goblin and The Cinnamon Bears is a group of very funny comics who spent the entire pandemic performing online and are excited to get onstage in front of a live audience!
  • COYOTE are the kids your parents warned you about, but funny.  Birthed during the pandemic, the group specializes in sketch comedy.
  • The Victims create their own brand of off-the-wall improv madness.  With the help of a storyteller, The Victims take audiences on a journey of hilarity with a night of highly theatrical, unscripted comedic mayhem that won't be forgotten.

Free parking is available at the Addison Theatre Centre (15650 Addison Road, Addison, TX 75001).  Alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase in the theatre lobby; attendees are encourage to come early and enjoy a meal at one of the many restaurants located within walking distance.
